Marble "Jardiniere"

This is a marble vase that I found in Carrara, the place where the Italian "white" marble is produced (it is called also "Carrara marble"). Today, white marble is becoming rare and expensive, but 50 or 100 years ago it was common enough that it could be used for pieces like this one. Also, at that time there were craftsmen capable of doing things which today would be impossible, or anyway hugely expensive. This vase is a "jardiniere" made most likely in the 1920's or 1930's. It is beautifully crafted and comes with its original column and pedestal. All four sides are hand carved with different scenes. Height is ca. 40 cm (not including base and pedestal). Needs to be seen!
